As the year is coming to a close, it is time to ask ourselves the big question: what are the hottest mixtapes of 2012? Here at CME, we took a step back, and thought long and hard about this. During the course of this year, there have been some real hot releases, so this list was not easy to come up with, but here it is…

Lupe Fiasco Vans

 

Lupe has teamed up with Vans OTW to design a fresh new sneaker. The “Native Tongues,” has a sleek and simple silhouette, while still incorporating meaning and inspiration. The all black shoe has an Aztec pattern down the tongue and the inner sole. The sneakers are a reference to the afro-centric, hip-hop movement of the ‘90s. They come in a canvas bag also designed in the native print and custom shoe box with artwork by Lupe. The sneakers are available at select Vans OTW retailers. AMERICAN PSYCHO

Red Cafe recently released his second mixtape this year, entitled American Psycho. Despite the late release, the mixtape has 12 strong tracks with features from French Montana, Fabolous, T-Pain, 2 Chainz, Jeremih, The Game, Trey Songz, and others… interested? Go ahead and check it out.

The Game speaks about Chris Brown and Rihanna

In an interview with Howard Stern, the Game talked about how he counseled Chris Brown during his very public break up with Rihanna, and even called Chris his “little brother.” The Game did also confirm that Chris and Rihanna are indeed “back together.” He simply stated that he “figured they were young and that was one of those Hollywood mishaps,” and that he does not think Chris would ever do something like that again.

On the other hand, when asked if Game would allow his daughter to date Chris, he just chuckled and accused Howard of trying to get him to “kill Chris Brown”
